What is Mansfield Music & Drama Festival?
Mansfield Music & Drama Festival was formed in 1924 as a festival of music, speech and drama in which people of all ages can perform as either competitors or non-competitors.
A professional adjudicator gives a verbal and written assessment of each entrant. The events take place over two separate weekends in March & April, and a final concert is presented in which selected performers take part.
How do I enter?
Entry forms are included in the syllabus, and can also be found on the website.
Can I enter non-competitively?
Yes, please mark the entry form as ‘Non-competitive’ The performer will still receive an adjudication, but no mark will be given.
What and why do I need to send copies of script/music?
For own choice drama selections, please send a copy of the script with your entry, for the use of the adjudicator.
For own choice music selections, please send a legible copy with the entry if you have requested the official accompanist. All music entrants need to bring a copy with them on the day of performance for the use of the adjudicator.
Will late entries be accepted?
Yes, but your name will not be in the programme.
Can I enter online?
Or you can enter offline by completing the form, posting to us and pay by cheque or bank transfer.
Can I pay entry fees or patron donations via online banking?
Using online banking helps keep our banking charges down.

How do I pay by cheque?
If you are unable to use online banking, please enclose your cheque (payable to Mansfield Music & Drama Festival Assn ) with your entry form. If you’re emailing your entry form and wish to pay by cheque, please post it to the entry address on the entry form. Write the name of the performer on the back.
Can I request a specific day/time?
We try to accommodate any request noted on the entry form, but can’t guarantee it

About Us
I am proud to introduce the Syllabus for the Mansfield Music and Drama Festival which will be held in the Spring of 2026.
If you are new to the Festival, a very warm welcome. To previous entrants, welcome back – and thank you for your continuing support.
Our Syllabus is where you can find the detail about the classes within our Festival, how to enter, and about what the requirements are. If you need any support we have a team of volunteers who make the Festival possible, and we will put you in touch with the relevant officer.Make sure you are organised, and don’t miss our entries deadline which is 28th February 2026.
The Festival is only possible thanks to the continued and valued support of all our sponsors and patrons. The Festival is a Registered Charity and every contribution is vital to our continued success. If you, your business or family can help support the Festival financially, please get in touch with us.
We encourage you to enter as many classes as you can throughout the Syllabus.
Don’t forget to join us for the ‘Festival Concert’ which is held at the end of the Festival and showcases the winners and the highlights. This year the concert will be held on Sunday, 10th May 2026 at The Palace Theatre, Mansfield.
